Border 2 Box Office Day 2 LIVE: Sunny Deol’s War Epic Holds Strong, Crosses Rs 45 Crore Despite Rain Disruptions

Border 2
, the high-octane war drama carrying forward the legacy of JP Dutta’s 1997 classic Border, continues to draw strong audience interest at the box office. Starring Sunny Deol, alongside Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh, the sequel has opened to largely positive word of mouth, with viewers praising its emotional depth and patriotic appeal.

Backed by solid advance bookings and pre-release buzz, Border 2 clocked a robust Rs 30 crore on its opening day (Friday), instantly placing it among the top Hindi film openers of the 2025–2026 period.

Border 2 Box Office Day 2 (LIVE Updates)

The spotlight now shifts to the crucial weekend and the extended Independence Day holiday window. According to Sacnilk’s early estimates, the film showed measured growth on Saturday, collecting Rs 15.58 crore by evening shows.

With this, Border 2 has taken its two-day total to Rs 45.58 crore, setting the stage for further upside as night shows and Sunday collections roll in.

Why Saturday Growth Was Limited

Industry tracker Box Office India notes that heavy rainfall across North India, along with delays in print deliveries in key centres, slightly restricted the film’s potential on Day 2. Despite these hurdles, Border 2 remains one of the stronger starters in recent months, even as the Hindi box office continues to face a slow recovery.

Notably, no film over the past 13 months has delivered a truly explosive opening, making Border 2’s start significant in the current market climate.

How ‘Border 2’ Stacks Up Against Recent Releases

When production budgets are weighed against opening-day collections, films such as ‘Saiyaara’, ‘Tere Ishq Mein’, and ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ have emerged as cost-efficient openers.

Even so, Border 2 has secured the second spot among the top ten Hindi openers of 2025–2026, trailing only ‘Chhaava’. Trade analysts also point out that ‘Dhurandhar’ had a softer opening but went on to explode at the box office in the following days—raising hopes for a similar weekend surge for Border 2.
