Adobe is accelerating its push into AI-powered productivity, and its latest Acrobat update marks a significant step forward. The company has introduced new generative AI features that allow users to edit documents using simple text prompts, generate podcast-style summaries, and automatically create presentations from files and shared workspaces.
AI-Powered Editing Comes to Adobe Acrobat
One of the most notable additions is prompt-based editing in Adobe Acrobat. Instead of manually navigating complex menus, users can now instruct Acrobat’s AI assistant using natural language. With this update, users can perform up to 12 document actions through prompts, including:
- Removing pages, text, comments, or images
- Finding and replacing words or phrases

Podcast Summaries Turn Documents Into Audio Content
Adobe is also bringing podcast-style summaries to Acrobat. Users can now generate audio overviews of individual files or entire Spaces, turning dense documents into easy-to-consume podcasts.
This move puts Adobe in direct competition with tools like Google NotebookLM, Speechify, and ElevenLabs’ Reader app, all of which already offer AI-generated audio summaries. The feature is particularly useful for professionals who want to review reports, research, or notes on the go.
Adobe Spaces Gets Smarter With AI Presentations
Adobe Spaces, launched last year as a collaborative hub for files and notes, is getting deeper AI integration. Acrobat can now pull information stored within a Space and transform it into a structured presentation using text prompts.
For example, if a Space includes financial data, product roadmaps, and competitor analysis, users can ask Acrobat to create a client-ready pitch deck explaining why their product outperforms rivals.
The AI assistant first generates an editable outline of the presentation. Users can then refine it using Adobe Express, applying themes from Express’ library, adding stock images or personal visuals, and customizing slides with brand colors and layouts.
Competing in the AI Presentation Space
Adobe’s new presentation tools place it alongside platforms like Canva and NotebookLM, which already offer document-to-presentation capabilities. At the same time, several startups are exploring AI-driven presentation creation by pulling data from multiple sources, signaling a rapidly evolving market.

Smarter Collaboration and Custom AI Assistants
Collaboration in Acrobat is also becoming more intelligent. Shared files now include AI-generated summaries with citations that link directly to specific sections of the document. Contributors can comment, add, or remove content while maintaining clarity on source references.
Additionally, users can choose different AI assistant roles such as analyst, entertainer, or instructor, depending on the task. Advanced users can even create custom assistant roles using prompts, tailoring Acrobat’s AI behavior to specific workflows.
